Social Impact Assessment
As requested by law, each regional council needs to carry out a social impact assessment at the beginning of its legislature. Your regional council has engaged the Faculty for Social Wellbeing from the University of Malta to assist in carrying out such a study in fulfilment of this legal obligation. The project will be carried out through a telephone questionnaire amongst residents of the Region, as well as a number of Focus groups targeted towards local councillors and mayors of the Region. The project will examine the quality of life (QoL) and liveability of localities within your Region and provide recommendations for initiatives that can boost the resourcefulness of the same Regional Council. Therefore, the benefits of this study will be far reaching, for one the Regional Council will understand the current state of affairs in its region and any challenges its residents and local councils are facing. Local councillors and mayors will gain more information on the quality of life of their residents and will be able to understand where operational changes are needed, whilst at the same time, they will be able to pass on recommendations to the Regional Council. Finally, the residents will be given a voice to speak about their awareness about their local councils and Regional Councils, as well as to outline their level of wellbeing in the locality they live in. Ultimately, the residents will also benefit of any changes made at a regional or locality level, as a response to such a study.
